Fleet Beekeepers Honey Show

Our Annual Honey show takes place at 7.30pm onwards on Thursday the 6th October at the Memorial Hall, Sandy Lane (just next to the Willis Hall).

Every current and prospective member as well as any other local beekeepers are very welcome to attend.

If you are a member of the FBKA you HAVE to put an entry in for at least one class!

Novice beekeepers are very welcome to have a go choosing anything from the classes listed here and there is a spectacular cup for the winning Novice! A full list of trophies is available to download here.

If you have bees, you just have to have at LEAST one jar of honey - burgle it from the brood box if none in the supers; therefore you must have SOME wax, so make some candles. You can put more than one entry in any Class, but can only win one prize in that Class (eg You may have light honey in two different shades from lime and garden flora). You are sure to have a camera or mobile phone - so take a pic and enter it!

And to make the cake all you need is 6oz of honey which is really not much more than a thimble full; whilst you're in the kitchen making the cake you might just as well knock up a dozen sweets or some honey fudge.

Please bring your exhibits as soon as possible after 7.30pm - there's lots of paperwork to do, exhibits staged, plus chairs and tables need arranging, all to be done by 8pm so the judging can commence. Definitely no late entries accepted. Soooooooooo - your kind help would be much appreciated.

OK - so hopefully you've all got the message; it's your Association and it's ultimate success depends on you to participate in the scheduled events. Our hobby has received much attention in the Press, so lets do our visitors and Show Judges proud and make this the best Fleet Beekeepers Honey Show ever!
