Associations
  • Basingstoke Beekeepers Association - Another local Beekeeping group with close links to Fleet BKA.
  • Hampshire Beekeepers Association - HBA represent all beekeeping associations in the county.
  • British Beekeepers Association - Our national body representing all local associations and beekeepers across the UK. They have an excellent online forum here.
  • Bee Improvement and Bee Breeding Association (BIBBA) - Focuses on the conservation, restoration, study, selection and improvement of the native and near-native honey bees of Britain and Ireland.
  • BeeBase - The National Bee Unit implements DEFRAs bee health policy and manages a voluntary database of beekeepers. Please register details of your apiary here so that you can be warned of any outbreak of EFB or AFB close to your location.

Suppliers
Please note the associations own store can supply almost everything you will need as a beekeeper at discount prices with all profits being ploughed back into the Association for the benefit of the members. Our President, Tony Holbeche manages the store which is open every Friday at 6.30-7.30pm from April to October. The location of the store is inside the members area.
  • Thornes - The biggest suppliers of beekeeping equipment in the UK.
  • Modern Beekeeping - Suppliers of Swienty Bee-suits (highly recommended) plus Polystyrene hives and Nucleus boxes.
  • Bee Suits - Online retailer of beekeeper's clothing. Bee Proof Suits range includes full protective bee suits and separate jackets and trousers. Recommended by a number of FBKA members. All orders delivered free.
  • Caddon Hives - Suppliers of low cost, high quality WBC and National hives made from Canadian Cedar.
  • Beckys Bees - A small business based in Andover and Newbury selling Ambrosia bee feed plus other bee keeping products and suits as well as nucs, full colonies and queens.
  • The Beehive Workshop - Makers of beautiful looking, high quality solid Cedar National hives.
  • C.Arden - A small family bookshop situated in Hay-on-Wye stocking many books on bees and beekeeping.
